About the Class
Intro to Wheel Throwing I
Intro to Wheel Throwing I is a four-week course to show the basics of creating pieces on the potter's wheel. Join me in learning how how to center the clay and pull walls to create forms such as mugs, bowls and vases. We will explore how the clay responds to various techniques while throwing.
If you enjoy "Intro to Wheel I," you can further your journey with clay with "Intro to Wheel II" where we explore the next stage of creating pots - trimming, carving and handle pulling.
Ceramics is a multi-step process which can take a month or more. These classes are designed to practice shaping clay, not necessarily to create take-home pots. If the student creates something they want to keep, pots may incur a $5/piece fee for the instructor to finish and glaze.
Class size is limited to three students.
