About the Class
Botanical Plates
Commemorate your garden, special bouquet, or summer in the mountains by pressing flowers and leaves into clay. Then we'll add subtle color to the impressions and your instructor will put a clear glaze on top and fire to make the plates food safe.
We'll form two plates using leaves, stems and flowers brought from home, the store or foraged from roadsides (no poison ivy, please!). The chunkier the stems and leaves, the more likely the impression will be visible.
Finished plates may take 4-6 weeks to complete the full firing cycle. Local pickup or we can ship for a fee.
